On January 23, 2000, the Golden Globe Awards ceremony took place. A week earlier, I made picks for who I wanted to win, and predictions for who I thought the Hollywood Foreign Press Association would give the award to. Here's how the evening went:

And I'm also happy to say that "The Sopranos" did indeed sweep the television categories, as I had wished. Congratulations to stars Edie Falco, James Gandolfini, and Nancy Marchand, as well as David Chase and the other producers of the show.

For those of you keeping score at home: of the 13 film awards, I correctly predicted six of the outcomes, two were my picks instead, and the remaining five took me my surprise. Next month, the Academy Award nominations will come out, so look for yet another round of picks and predictions.
